Inerpreters are special. More and more people are bi-lingual or multi-lingual but it takes
a special form of creative empathy and consideration to be an excellent interpreter.
The empathy comes from understanding the person that they are interpreting and the consideration comes from knowing that others can interpret into other languages from their English.
Good interpreters will seek any way they can find to put their skills into practise and we at F Parkes Associates – Max Your Voice will help them hone the English sounds, rhythms and appropriate intonation for pronouncing English in a modern way that is easily understood.
The working voice of the interpreter needs care. When you consider that our vocal folds sometimes vibrate at around 100 cycles per second or more, interpreters need to know how their voice works and how they can take the best care of their voice. Translators also benefit when they’re using voice activated software. They can increase their earnings considerably with better voice flow and better articulation, resulting in less mistakes and increased speed. Plus they will have more vocal energy and a better quality of voice. How to attain good posture and alignment is a big part of voice work. This is a great energy saver and helps to release the voice.
