People on this Speak English Clearly course have to be using English in their working life or Post Graduates who’ve taken their exams in English. Of course, there are slight variations of levels of spoken English within eachgroup, but really, the levels are discernible only in that some people have more awareness of the areas that they need to work.
The course is carefully structured. The first thing is to encourage you to understand how your voice connects to your thought. The muscles that you use to create English sounds are different to those that you use to create sounds inyour first language. The breath is also used in a different way. This process and the exercises that go with this stage are fun and help us all laugh and relax. We then move through all the sounds of modern English pronunciation. At the end of the course each person gives a short presentation. By this time, everyone knows the particular sounds they need to work on and which sounds create the rhythmic quality of modern English.
You will get a good grounding in modern English pronunciation. With the aid of the CDs and book you have the resources to continue to develop. If you ever need help with particular words, you will have the phonetic symbols to find out how these words are pronounced. We offer ongoing help at no extra cost. Many clients who have been on this course are still in touch after 3 to 5 years.
